Women’s free clinic receives its first Colposcope in an effort to diagnose and eradicate cervical cancer.

On Tuesday, November 13, the “Spirit Foundation” will donate the first colposcope to

the “Harriett Tubman Free Women’s Clinic” located in the “Open Door Community”

residence. The new Colposcope will allow volunteer doctor’s from Emory University the

ability to visually distinguish normal from abnormal appearing tissue and take directed

biopsies for further pathological examination. This life-saving procedure will provide

patients in house diagnosis with the early stages of cancer or existing cancerous

lesions. Early diagnosis saves lives.
